How we work

Procurement, panels and how we engage

We are familiar with the procurement environment government clients operate in. We work across:
  • Direct engagement under a council’s purchasing policy (typically up to the standard procurement threshold).
  • Existing panel arrangements, where we are appointed.
  • Open tender and Expression of Interest processes
  • Schedule of rates and standing-offer arrangements for repeat work.
We can support a council or agency procurement team with capability statements, evidence of insurances, recent project references and methodology overviews on request.

Government work sits inside a demanding regulatory landscape: state planning legislation and its consultation requirements for plan amendments, development applications and state significant proposals; each state’s integrated planning and reporting obligations for councils, and the engagement timeframes and quality expectations they set; local government legislation and the guidance issued by each state’s local government regulator; and the probity, audit and integrity-body expectations (ICAC and its state equivalents) that shape how government procures and reports on consultation. We design our work to meet these requirements as a baseline, not as a stretch goal.

Are you on any council panels?
We work through existing panel arrangements where we are appointed, and directly under a council’s purchasing policy where we are not. If you would like to confirm panel status or discuss panel membership, please contact us.
Yes. We routinely respond to EOI, RFP and tender processes, and can provide capability statements, insurances, project references and methodology overviews as part of a procurement submission.
We accept the usual conflict-checking obligations before taking on new work and will decline an engagement that creates a conflict. Where there is potential for one — for example a developer proposal in your LGA that we are also advising — we will disclose it before agreeing to the engagement.
Yes. Our reporting is designed to brief councillors, executive and senior decision-makers — not just operational teams. We routinely attend council briefing sessions, workshops and decision meetings where required.
In most cases, yes — our team has worked with and inside councils, state agencies and statutory authorities. Rather than list clients publicly, we can speak to relevant references under appropriate confidentiality — just ask.
